Interesting story behind Chilly. In 2000, I had decided to get a nice 2 yr old QH to show and really liked the Nu Cash horses I had seen on the west coast. I noticed there was a Nu Cash stallion standing in TN named Nu Chex to Cash. He had a great AQHA show record, but no NRHA record. The next year I debuted Chilly at the Futurities and she caught a lot of folks eyes. Meanwhile Jessica Keller was just jumping into the NRHA world and took it by storm showing her step-dad's horse, Nu Chex to Cash! At the Firecracker Derby that year, I won the Derby on Chilly, Jessica won the NP on Nu Chex, and another Nu Chex mare won the Novice NP. An old freind, Marcia Walker decided she wanted to join the "golden club" (all 3 were palominos) and bought the Nu Chex mare that won the Novice Horse. Well that mare didn't quite vet clean, so Double Run offerred Marci an alternate 3 year old palomino colt named Wimpys Little Step instead. Marcia passed on that colt in July. Shawn Flarida heard about the colt from his brother shoeing at Double Run, picked him up in August, and the rest is history!
